Article Summary

Who can use this feature?
  🌐 ✔️ MES (v6.5.X) ✔️ LES (v6.5.X)
  💻 Web app
  👤 System Admin users

System administrators have the ability to transfer resources and templates from their Tempo development environment to their Tempo validation environment, or from their Tempo validation environment to their Tempo production environment.

NOTE:

Transfers must be between two Tempo environments on the same Tempo version.

A customer's business and process requirements, as well as the types of information created in their environments, may determine which of Tempo's transfer features are relevant to the customer.

Transferring resources

The following user, location, and resource information can be transferred using the system Transfers tool.

  • User Groups
  • Materials
  • Equipment
  • Sample classes and subclasses (requires LES)
  • Array classes and subclasses (requires LES)
  • Locations
  • Statuses

Transferring templates

Individual batch templates (requires MES) and procedure templates can be transferred using Export Template functionality.

PREREQUISITES:
  • Each batch and procedure template should have a unique name (that is, different from any other template in both the source and destination environments) to ensure an optimal transfer experience.
  • Batch or procedure templates can only be transferred one batch or one procedure at a time.
    • However, as part of transferring a batch template, all procedure templates within the batch template are automatically included in the transfer.
  • In order to transfer a template, the template must be in an Effective stage. Only the effective version with transfer.
  • The user conducting the transfer must have access to the source and destination environments.

Transferring a batch template

  1. Log in to the source environment.
  2. From the left navigation panel, click cloud Tempo > Batches > Templates.
  3. Click the name of the batch template to transfer.
  4. Click more_vert More Options near the top right of the page, then click Export Batch Template.
  5. Provide a description following your organization's processes, then click Confirm. An Export via Hash Code pop-up displays.
  6. Click Copy to Clipboard to copy the hash code to your clipboard. (If you cannot complete the transfer in the same session, save the hash code somewhere secure and ensure that you use it before the expiration window closes.)
  7. Log in to the destination environment.
  8. From the left navigation panel, click cloud Tempo > Batches > Templates.
  9. Click More Options more_vert More Options near the top right of the page, then click Import Batch Template.
  10. Paste the hash code into the hash code field, then click Import. The system displays an overview of the import.
  11. Click Proceed to proceed with the import. (Do not close your browser window during import.) An Import Response pop-up displays.
  12. Expand any section to review information about the import. Click Print to print information about the import, or click Close or X to dismiss the pop-up. The imported batch template displays.
NOTES:
  • After a batch template transfers, the updated date for the batch template reflects the import date (until any other changes are made in the destination system) and the created date reflects the original creation date from the source system.
  • Any procedure templates and batch parameter groups that are part of a batch template version automatically transfer from one environment to another as part of a batch template transfer.
    • In Tempo 6.5.X versions, this is the only way to transfer a batch parameter group.
    • Because batch parameter groups are version-specific, after a batch template version has been transferred from one environment to another, any batch parameter groups created after that point in a source environment cannot be transferred to the same destination environment using system transfer tools.
  • Any location and resource information that is included in a procedure template automatically transfer from one environment to another as part of a batch template transfer that includes that procedure template. This does not include user or user group information.
  • The user conducting the transfer will be listed as the Original Author for the batch template in the destination environment. No other author information is part of the transfer.
  • The history of the batch template, including any previous versions, does not transfer. It remains available in the source environment.

Transferring a procedure template

NOTE:

If a procedure template has been transferred as part of a batch template, it is not necessary or recommended to transfer the procedure separately as well. Doing this will create duplicate procedure templates.

  1. Log in to the source environment.
  2. From the left navigation panel, click cloud Tempo > Procedures > Templates.
  3. Click the name of the procedure template to transfer.
  4. Click more_vert More Options near the top right of the page, then click Export Procedure Template.
  8. From the left navigation panel, click cloud Tempo > Procedures > Templates.
  9. Click more_vert More Options near the top right of the page, then click Import Procedure Template.
The imported procedure template displays.
NOTES:
  • After a procedure template transfers, the updated date for the procedure template reflects the import date (until any other changes are made in the destination system) and the created date reflects the original creation date from the source system.
    • Any location and resource information, and any linked procedures, that are included in a procedure template automatically transfer from one environment to another as part of the procedure template transfer. This does not include user or user group information.
  • The user conducting the transfer will be listed as the Original Author for the procedure template in the destination environment. No other author information is part of the transfer.
  • The history of the procedure template, including any previous versions, does not transfer. It remains available in the source environment.
