Camera and Microphone Blocked

Issue

User's camera and/or microphone is blocked and is therefore unable to join a Tandem session on the web application.

Solution

There are two options to troubleshoot your device's camera and/or microphone:

Close additional software

  1. Close any web conferencing applications (Webex, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.) that may be interfering with the camera or microphone access on Tandem.
  2. Navigate back to the browser with the Tempo web application open and refresh the page.
  3. Re-join the Tandem session.

Update Google Chrome settings

  1. Click the padlock located next to the portal URL in the address bar.

  2. Click Site Settings. This will open a new browser tab.
  3. Under Permissions, change the Camera and Microphone settings to Allow.
NOTE:

If the settings are already set to Allow, click Reset Permissions then Reset.

  1. Navigate back to the browser with the Tandem web application open and refresh the page.
  2. Re-join the Tandem session.
NOTE:

If you reset the permissions in step 3, you will be asked to allow camera and microphone access again.
