Standard & cleanroom cleaning

The following best practices for cleaning your headset ensures your device is properly disinfected and prepared for its next use. Review the sections below to learn how to clean your headset for standard and cleanroom purposes.

Standard cleaning

  • Disconnect any cables connected to your headset (including power, data, or other accessory devices).
  • Ensure the rear connection slots are closed firmly.
  • Do NOT spray the device directly or submerge in a cleaning solution. Instead, wipe the device down with a clean wipe or moist towelette.
  • If a device is wiped down with 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or mild soap and water, use an additional clean wipe or moist towelette to ensure there is no residue.
  • Do NOT get fabric or fibers caught on any edges of the device.
  • Be particularly gentle with the camera lens and micro-display screen to ensure it is not scratched.
  • The battery must always be kept dry. If exposed to excessive moisture, an indicator on the battery housing unit will turn red.
  • Ensure fluid does NOT get into the blade battery compartment or the modular camera housing.

Cleanroom cleaning

  • Prior to transferring a headset into a cleanroom, the devices should be wiped down with the appropriate cleaning solution.
NOTES:
  • If you are using a chlorinated cleaner (bleach, Virkon S, etc.) or Spor-Klenz, use an additional clean wipe or moist towelette sprayed with 70% IPA to re-wipe all surfaces and remove any residue.
  • The camera lens and micro-display screen should ONLY be wiped down with 70% IPA or another mild cleaner to prevent streaking issues with capture and display clarity.
  • Add your preferred cleaning solution to the clean wipe and wipe down all of the headset and cleanroom band surfaces.
