Starting & Joining a Tandem Session on the Web App

Tandem web application users can initiate or join ad-hoc Tandem sessions to receive and share information on the fly. The Tandem web application also supports scheduling sessions in advance, which can be launched directly from a laptop or desktop device. Review the sections below to learn more about each of these methods for starting or joining a Tandem session on the web application.

Starting an ad-hoc session on the web app

Via Tandem dashboard

  1. From the left navigation panel, click IconTandem Tandem.
  2. Click Dashboard.
  3. Click New Session. The New Session dialog displays.
  4. Search or filter for collaborators to invite to the session. Click the checkbox next to the name of each person to invite.
  5. (OPTIONAL) Click Assign Alternative Admin to assign the selected collaborator as an alternative session admin.
  6. Click Start. A Google Chrome tab displays.
  7. (OPTIONAL) Click Mute, Stop Video, or Check audio and video to adjust your audio and/or video settings.
  8. (OPTIONAL) Click expand_less Expand > Blur My Background to blur the background of your video display for additional privacy.
  9. Click Join. The Tandem session window displays.

Via navigation panel

  1. From the left navigation panel, click IconTandem Tandem.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. Click Start a new session. The New Session dialog displays.
  4. Search or filter for collaborators to invite to the session. Click the checkbox next to the name of each person to invite.
  5. (OPTIONAL) Click Assign Alternative Admin to assign the selected collaborator as an alternative session admin.
  6. Click Start. A Google Chrome tab displays.

  9. Click Join. The Tandem session window displays.

Joining an ad-hoc session on the web app

Via email notification

  1. On a Google Chrome web browser, locate and open the New Tandem Request email.
  2. Click Join or copy and paste the Tandem link in a new browser tab.
NOTE:

If you are not logged in to the Tempo Manufacturing Cloud, it will prompt you to do so now.

  1. (OPTIONAL) Click Mute, Stop Video, or Check audio and video to adjust your audio and/or video settings.
  2. (OPTIONAL) Click expand_less Expand > Blur My Background to blur the background of your video display for additional privacy.
  3. Click Join. The Tandem session window displays.

Via Tandem dashboard

  1. From the left navigation panel, click IconTandem Tandem.
  2. Click Dashboard.
  3. Click Join. The Sessions dialog opens with the Sessions in Progress tab displayed by default.
  4. Locate an active session of your choice, then click Join. A Google Chrome tab displays.
  5. (OPTIONAL) Click Mute, Stop Video, or Check audio and video to adjust your audio and/or video settings.
  6. (OPTIONAL) Click expand_less Expand > Blur My Background to blur the background of your video display for additional privacy.
  7. Click Join. The Tandem session window displays.

Via navigation panel

  1. From the left navigation panel, click IconTandem Tandem.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. Click Join an existing session. The Sessions dialog opens with the Sessions in Progress tab displayed by default.
  4. Locate an active session of your choice, then click Join. A Google Chrome tab displays.
  5. (OPTIONAL) Click Mute, Stop Video, or Check audio and video to adjust your audio and/or video settings.
  6. (OPTIONAL) Click expand_less Expand > Blur My Background to blur the background of your video display for additional privacy.
  7. Click Join. The Tandem session window displays.

Starting a scheduled session on the web app

Via Tandem dashboard

  1. From the left navigation panel, click IconTandem Tandem.
  2. Click Dashboard.
  3. Locate the appropriate session below Upcoming Scheduled Sessions, then click Start on web. A Google Chrome tab displays.
  4. (OPTIONAL) Click Mute, Stop Video, or Check audio and video to adjust your audio and/or video settings.
  5. (OPTIONAL) Click expand_less Expand > Blur My Background to blur the background of your video display for additional privacy.
  6. Click Join. The Tandem session window displays.

Via navigation panel

  1. From the left navigation panel, click IconTandem Tandem.
  2. Click Sessions.
  3. Click Scheduled Sessions.
  4. Locate the appropriate session in the list, then click Start on web. A Google Chrome tab displays.
  5. (OPTIONAL) Click Mute, Stop Video, or Check audio and video to adjust your audio and/or video settings.
  6. (OPTIONAL) Click expand_less Expand > Blur My Background to blur the background of your video display for additional privacy.
  7. Click Join. The Tandem session window displays.

Joining a scheduled session on the web app

Via email notification

  1. On a Google Chrome web browser, locate and open the scheduled Event Invitation email.
  2. Click Join or copy and paste the Tandem link in a new browser tab.
NOTE:

If you are not logged in to the Tempo Manufacturing Cloud, it will prompt you to do so now.
