Connecting the Headset to a Wireless Network (HMT-1, HMT-1Z1, Navigator 500 Series)

Review the sections below to learn how to connect your Apprentice-powered headset to a wireless network using a method of your choice.

RealWear configuration website (recommended)

1. Power on the headset device. For more information, refer to the Powering the Headset On and Off article.
2. On a desktop computer or tablet, navigate to the RealWear Configuration website (external link).
3. Click Configuration.
4. Click Wireless Network Setup.
5. In the Access Point field, enter the name of the wireless network you want to connect to.

6. Select the appropriate security level of the wireless network.
7. Enter the Password for the wireless network.
8. Click Generate Barcode in the upper right corner. A QR code will display.
   
9. On the Apprentice-powered headset, say "My Programs," then say "Configuration."
10. Point the headset camera toward the QR code to scan and connect to the network. A tone will occur when the connection is made.

Headset voice commands

1. Power on the headset device.
2. Say "My Programs," then say "Settings."
3. Say "Network & Internet," then say "Wireless Networks."
4. Say the name of the wireless network you want to connect to. If you do not see the name of the network in the immediate list say "Page Down" until you reach the network.
5. Say "Normal Entry" then use the military alphabet to enter the entire password.

6. When complete, say "Connect" to connect to the desired wireless network.

RealWear Companion application

1. Power on the headset device.
2. On an iOS device, download the RealWear Companion application from the Apple App Store.
3. Open the RealWear Companion app then tap Remote Keybord.
4. Enter the wireless network password in the text field. A QR code will generate in real time.

5. On your Apprentice-powered headset, say "My Programs," then say "Settings."
6. Say "Network & Internet," then say "Wireless Networks."
7. Say the name of the wireless network you want to connect to.

8. Say "More Options," then say "Scan Code."
9. Hold your iOS device in front of the headset camera to scan the QR code from the RealWear Companion app. The text you previously typed in step 4 will automatically appear in the Password field.
10. Say "Connect" to successfully connect to the network.
