Once a procedure template has reached the Effective approval stage and has been assigned for execution, an operator can log into Tempo on a mobile device running Apple's iOS or an Apprentice-powered headset to preview or execute it.
This article is composed of the following sections:
- Launching a procedure on an iOS device
- Launching a procedure on headset
- Executing a procedure on headset
Launching a procedure on an iOS device
To execute a procedure on headset, the operator must first launch the assigned procedure within the Tempo app on their iOS device.
- Open the Tempo application on your iOS device. The Batches page displays by default.
- Tap the Menu icon (three bars) located in the upper left corner of the page. A panel displays links to various menu options.
- Tap Procedures. The Procedures list displays.
- To start a new procedure run, locate the Assigned Procedures section, then tap the relevant procedure. (To continue an in-progress run, locate the Ongoing Procedures section, then tap the relevant procedure. Select Continue and skip to the Launching a procedure on headset section of this document.)
- To start the procedure run, select Start. The procedure displays.
For additional information on procedure run functionality within the iOS application, review the Executing a Procedure on iOS article.
Launching a procedure on headset
Once an operator has opened a procedure using an iOS device, they can use the iOS app to launch that procedure on an Apprentice-powered headset. Ensure that the headset is charged and on prior to completing the steps below.
- After launching the procedure using the Tempo app on the iOS device, tap the Connect Glasses button in the top right corner of the app. A Connect Glasses QR code displays.
- On your Apprentice-powered headset, say "Navigate Home," then "Tempo." The Scan Code to Access Procedure page displays.
- Use the camera on the headset to scan the Connect Glasses QR code on the iOS device. Once connected, the headset displays the options for the first step of the procedure and plays the first audio instruction.
For additional information on headset functionality, review the articles in the Headset Configuration section of the Apprentice Navigator.
Executing a procedure on headset
An operator's specific procedure execution experience is determined by the decisions made during procedure template authoring.
While directions, inputs, actions, and other aspects of an individual procedure will vary, the following serves as a general overview of the procedure execution experience on headset.
The name of each step displays at the top of the headset page.
Each step also includes the following options, which allow the operator to review additional information for the step and to proceed to the next step:
- Instruction: Repeats the audio instruction.
- Details: On the connected iOS device, displays the step's detail view.
- Next: Displays the next step, if applicable.
- For the last step in a procedure, the Done option displays instead. Say "Done" to complete the procedure.
Any inputs, actions, or other options associated with the step also display between the Details and Next/Done options.
- Some options may require completion on the connected iOS device (e.g., Table). If selected, the headset informs the operator to complete this item on the companion device.
- For all other options, say the name of the item (e.g., "Equipment") or verbally select the number of the item as labeled by the headset (e.g., "Select 4") and follow displayed instructions to complete that item.
General Tempo voice commands
The following general Tempo voice command options display at the bottom of each headset page.
- Previous: Navigates to the previous step, if applicable.
- Pause/Play: While the audio instruction is playing, Pause and Play allow you to pause and play the audio.
- Menu: Opens a Tempo system menu with the following options:
- Disconnect: Disconnects your headset from the procedure within your Tempo iOS application.
